10 Reasons Why the iPhone is Rubbish

Thursday, January 11th, 2007
  1. It has no keyboard.  No keyboard means no tactile feedback means bad.
  2. No 3G.
  3. It only has (at most) 8Gb of memory.  For something that really looks like it wants to be a computer in your pocket, that isn’t much.  When was the last time you used a laptop that only had an 8Gb HDD?
  4. It’s completely controlled by touchscreen.  With the best will in the world, touch screen means fingerprints and scratches.  Ouch.
  5. In the US, at least, you’re currently tied to one single network provider.
  6. The battery life is nothing to write home about.
  7. All syncing is controlled by iTunes.
  8. The earphones are classic iPod white, but the device is black.  Muggings will increase.
  9. They’re pretty darned expensive.  At $599 plus a two year contract you’re talking about a lot of money being spent.
  10. I can’t get one yet!  The US gets theirs in June, whilst Europe has to wait until Q4 2007, with Asia waiting even longer!  Damn.

Everything is rubbish to some degree or other. Everything. There are no exceptions.
