It's been said that some 360's are noisy, but I had one which died, (it was quiet), one which I traded FOR the elite (which was also quiet) and now my elite, which, you've guessed it, is quiet. Now unless I've just lucked out tremendously, something tells me, you are in the minority who have found themselves with a noisy console. Oh, but PS3 lord agrees! How awfully surprising My 360 elite is running as I write this, and is quiet as a mouse.
