Filson Releases Exclusive Junya Watanabe Denim Cruiser (2024)

Combining American heritage with Japanese tailoring, Filson brings on prolific designer Junya Watanabe for an exclusively designed edition of the brand’s iconic Denim Cruiser. The Japanese designer reimagines Filson’s bestselling silhouette for the jacket’s 110th anniversary year.

By bringing together Watanabe’s avant-garde streetwear vision with Filson’s timeless functionality, the limited edition Cruiser is designed to feature a denim front, nylon back and faux leather patchwork detailing on the sleeves. Very much Watanabe-coded, the Cruiser transforms to a modern icon in the new century. The Cruiser has been a staple jacket at Filson’s since 1897 and was patented in 1914 by founder C.C. Filson. The style of jacket has been one the most popular designs in over a century. Its utilitarian pockets featuring a full-width rear pocket that originally utilized by surveyors to carry maps all the way to the buttons are all a part of the American legacy brand’s functional roots.
