Is winterfest in Pigeon Forge free? ›

Winterfest Kickoff

The event will conclude with the activation of six million lights throughout the city followed by a show-stopping fireworks display. All Winterfest kickoff event entertainment is free. Free parking is available in the city's Municipal and Mountain parking lots located just off Teaster Lane.

Our half-mile Winter Walk paved trail is wheelchair and stroller accessible.

The lights of Winterfest shine from early November through the end of February. Whether this is your first time to visit the Smoky Mountains, or you're making a return trip, Winterfest is the perfect occasion to share special memories with family and friends.

Gatlinburg Space Needle

One of the best ways to view the Christmas lights in Gatlinburg TN is from the top of the Gatlinburg Space Needle! This 407-foot-tall observation tower features stunning views of downtown Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains.

Admission is only $6 for guests 12 years and older and FREE for children 11 years and younger. The Winterfest of Lights is subject to closure for inclement weather.

The trail runs from Pigeon Forge Municipal Parking Lot, which is at 2936 Teaster Lane between the LeConte Center and The Island in Pigeon Forge along the Riverwalk Greenway to Patriot Park, which is about a mile-and-a-half one way.

Now with more than 1,000,000 lights and hundreds of displays, the 2 1/2-month celebration draws thousands of visitors to Northside Park at 125th Street and bayside and the Ocean City Inlet.

Experience the wonder of the holiday season at the mesmerizing Fantasy of Lights Christmas Parade in Gatlinburg. On December 6, 2024, from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM, this beloved annual spectacle will transform the picturesque mountain town into a dazzling winter wonderland, set against the serene Great Smoky Mountains.

The Fairy House is off the Twin Creeks Trail. Park at Mynatt Park and walk toward the trailhead. Once you hit pavement (Twin Creeks Research Lab Access), take the paved road toward the right. You will come to the office of Discover Life in America that has a blue sign in front of it.

The Elkmont area of Great Smoky Mountains National Park is world renowned for being home to the magnificent display of this unique species of firefly.

There are three access points to experience the Wonders of Light Walking Trail, they are found at the Pigeon Forge Municipal Parking Lot C, Jake Thomas Road and Butler Street near Old Mill Avenue.

Winter Wonderland tickets

Entry to Winter Wonderland is free during off-peak times, but entry at peak times and access to some activities require a paid-for ticket. In 2023, visitors who spent an additional £25 on chargeable attractions, rides or games when booking their ticket were entitled to free admission.
